Florida is considered by many as the Fishing Capital of the World! Florida's freshwater fisheries comprise 3 million acres of lakes, ponds and reservoirs, and approximately 12,000 miles of fishable rivers, streams and canals-with no closed seasons. From mangroves to salt marshes, fish to swimming scallops, Florida is the "Fishing Capital of the World."

Make sure you get your recreational fishing license. Annual recreational fishing licenses are valid for12 months from the date of purchase or the alternate starting date if selected at the time of purchase, unless otherwise specified on the face of the license. Lake Louisa State Park

Lake Louisa State Park is located south of Clermont on Highway 27. A beautiful state park where you can see and experience the real Florida and take a day away from the hustle of the theme parks. You will see many different birds like the Limpkin, Blue Heron, Sandhill Cranes, turtles, and maybe an alligator. Lots of hiking and bike riding paths to enjoy. $5.00 fee per vehicle to enter.


Blue Springs Park

Come and enjoy the beautiful nature of Central Florida. Rent a kayak or canoe for a few hours and experience the quietness away from the theme parks. At the end of your relaxing day stop by the Springs and take a dip in the water. While kayaking or canoeing the Blue Springs park you will experience Florida nature up and personal, you will see a large amount of birds, turtles and alligators and will meet some of the nicest people. Pack a lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat, towel and take the time to be totally relaxed. But, remember to keep your eyes open for wildlife- they like to hide.


Chain of Lakes in Winter Haven

Enjoy a peaceful day on Central Florida's many beautiful lakes and rivers. You can explore for an hour, several hours or the full day as you experience the serenity and beauty of nature. Wekiwa Springs State Park

Wekiwa Springs State Park is a 7,000-acre Florida State Park in Apopka, Florida. It is located 20 minutes north of Orlando, off Interstate 4 at exit 94, near Altamonte Springs and Longwood. Great selection of Florida wildlife. The park also contains the head water of the Wekiva River.


The Circle B Bar Reserve

The Circle B Bar Reserve is one of the best kept secrets of Polk County's wilderness and nature preserve. Located on the shore of Lake Hancock, this environmental area boasts large numbers and varieties of wildlife and attracts visitors from all over. Circle B is also home to Polk Nature Discovery Center. There is no cost to visit and you are only asked to respect the nature and wildlife, A wonderful place to reconnect to nature!
